HILLTOP PLAYS AND WINS FIRST BASKETBALL GAME EVER
By Isaac Dearie
The Hilltop Knights basketball team in its first season ever recently won their first game of the season (a home game) over Halecrest by the score of 29-19. The starting line up featured Luke Vargus as point guard, Oscar Isias as the big man in the middle, Jaydon Carpadakis as right wing, Isaac Dearie as left wing, and Joaqin Blanz as high post.
To help ensure victory there were many fans on the sidelines including a voluntary cheerleading squad consisting of Charlotte Gonzales, Jaden Molina, and Chloe Hampton. They added a real blaze to the game and a must have been one of secrets to winning.
Players coming off the bench to play also helped including Randy Martinez, Leilua Zumstein, Krystina Beltan, Damion Helen, Dezirae Galvan, Christian Angeli-Morales and Carlee Gregg who played a great defensive game. Christian Angeli-Morales scored a couple of shots from way outside that made everyone throw up their hands in the air. Oscar Isais blocked several shots causing the crowd to start chanting "Get that outta here!"
In the end, Hilltop's first basketball game ever had been a successful one.
