“Passengers”
A Movie Review By Isaac Stone
Over 5,000 passengers and 255 crew members are all suspended in an intergalactic spacecraft for about 120 years. There's just one problem. Two of the riders have awoken from their hibernation about 90 years premature. What can go wrong? As you're about to see, a lot.
"Passengers" is a tale of a lonely guy, classified as Jim Preston, played by Chris Pratt. He’s on a spacecraft called the Avalon, going on a direct path to a newly discovered, earth-like planet scientifically pronounced as Homestead II. Due to a meteorite striking the Avalon, this futuristic spacecraft sustained a malfunction in the hibernation system, hence causing the protagonist to awake. Struggling to get around, he befriends an AI on the spacecraft that guides him throughout life on the Avalon. Coming across multiple handbooks, he finds out how to release the hibernation on any passenger, and relieves strikingly beautiful, Aurora, played by Jennifer Lawrence. The movie never reveals her last name, so it's just Aurora. But as the meteorite collision effects worsen and the Avalon slowly crumbles away from existence, will Jim and Aurora be able to save the other passengers, or will their plan wither with them? Only you can find out in "Passengers"
The 2016 movie, "Passengers," flawlessly aces all criteria a movie must follow. From smooth and slick animations, to enrolling two of film's hottest actors and actresses, to the action and adventure, director Morten Tyldum nailed it! Having Chris Prat and Jennifer Lawrence as protagonists was not only brilliant, but enticing as well. The meticulous story line and romance between the two kept you waiting and hungry. You just can't leave your seat to go get more popcorn, you always need to see what's next.
All in all, the movie "Passengers" is a must-see for all people who love a fantastic and well done sci-fi movie that keeps you on the edge at all times.
