Dr. Seuss Day Celebrated at Hilltop
Story by Victoria Rossoff
"Deep in the Grickle-Grass, some people say, if you look deep enough you can still see today where the Lorax once stood as long as it could before somebody lifted the Lorax away." -The Lorax
Dr. Seuss Day was celebrated at Hilltop Elementary on Wednesday March 2nd. Everybody could wear any sort of crazy hat or a hat from a Dr.Seuss book. Dr.Seuss day was created in order to celebrate and honor Dr.Seuss's birthday and Dr.Seuss in general. It was created by the National Education Association or NEA. Dr. Seuss is the author of many childrens' books and many have had a grand impact on peoples' lives.
Dr.Seuss has written many great books such as The Lorax, Green Eggs and Ham, Thidwick the Moose, and many others. Some are just for fun but others truly have a big moral in the story. For example, The Lorax has a theme of protecting the environment and preserving animals and nature.
Mrs.Ashley, our very own kindergarten teacher, loves Dr.Seuss and reads his books to her class often.
"I love Yertle the Turtle because he was always so dependable," said Mrs. Ashley.
Yes, and not only was Yertle the Turtle dependable, but so was Dr.Seuss because we relied on him to write wonderful books.
