Ruth Sax, A super Woman Without a Cape
By Brissa Quiroz
Ruth Sax was a 90 year old woman that went to three concentration camps in 1938 at Auschwitz. Before she passed away recently she visited Hilltop and said,
"When I look back now at things, I get very frustrated because of what’s going on in the world and sometimes I wonder, did people really learn?"
She was a very important person in our society. During Ruth's Bat Mitzvah speech several months ago, she said that each night she went to bed, she thought of being with her husband, Kurt Sax. He passed away in May 11, 2012 and she prayed to God that one day she would be reunited with him. Ruth went to join her husband, and parents, along with family members that were killed in the Holocaust.
As she was laid to rest on December 31, 2018, there is comfort knowing that her husband, parents, and numerous family members and friends will surround her. Ruth is going to her final home. Survivors include two daughters, Rabbi Eva Sax Bolder (Larry), and Sandra Scheller (Mark); four grandchildren, Amalia Sax Gagnon (Kate), Anessa Sax Bolder, Samuel Scheller, and Max Scheller, numerous cousins and the thousands of people she touched with her words and wisdom to remind the world to NEVER FORGET what happened. She was a Superwoman without a cape.
