HILLTOP HOLDS FAMILY SCIENCE NIGHT
The HILLTOP Elementary School Family Science Night was held on Thursday, November 8th in the school's auditorium and on the blacktop from 5 p.m to 6:30 p.m. Several families including a lot of Hilltop students took part in the event.
Participants explored hands-on activities based upon stars, galaxies, constellations, the solar system, planets, moons, asteroids, comets and space travel.
"My favorite part was being able to look through a telescope," said Sadie Canizales, a third grader. "I loved seeing different planets and stars."
Several HILLTOP teachers helped to make sure the Science Night was successful.
"It seemed as though everyone had a wonderful time at Family Science Night. The Alka-Seltzer Rockets were a hit out on the blacktop! Students also enjoyed the balloon rockets, said 4th grade teacher Cindy Caballero who was in charge of Science Night. "I'd like to thank the PTA for sponsoring the event again this year."
All in all it was an amazing evening and everyone who showed up learned something new about science.
